T3-87 : THRILLER PROJECT 2007/8

Initial Ideas.

We have looked at many different openings to help give us 'inspiration' on certain aspects of our opening sequence.

We looked at 'Zodiac' and 'Cloverfield'

Zodiac Trailer.

Looking at this trailer, we found many things we liked about it for example at about the 50 seconds mark we see the Zodiac killer walk behind two people. We also like the scene with two people in the basement and you hear the creaking footsteps above with a man humming.

This is the trailer to Cloverfield, looking at this trailer we found that the rewind aspect at the beginning and also the main character talking to the camera directly as though it was a camera phone. There is also a slightly fuzzy tv effect as though there are technical difficulties used in it aswell as shots flashing negative quickly.

The man talking into his camera as though he's making a diary entry.

We would like to use these techniques somehwere in our opening sequence.

Basic Story - Initial Plan

It opens up with a party at night, people dancing and that sort of thing.

During the party we see a black figure walk past the window, as it does the scene flashes negative.

We see a bit more of the party as it fades to black.

When the scene fades back in we see a shot of a girl asleep on the sofa and pans around to see someone being dragged away.

The camera will then turn around and move into the eyes of the girl showing everything from her perspective. She explores the house, with scenes of before the party and now for example showing blood prints on the walls, flashing negative, then freezing with the credits being shown. She then goes to the phone, calls a number but to no avail. When that happens she checks the tv and radio, still nothing. At this point she rus to the door, as she turns the handle and opens it slightly, you hear a sharp thump and all goes black ending with the tv blip.

A questionable scene is after the thump she is seen blinking often as she is dragged away.
